Botanical name: Salvia officinalis

Kitchen use: In stffungs for pork, goose and sausages, good with liver and cream cheese.

Household use: Sage leves rubbed on the teeth will clean them, as will sage vinegar. The latter is also a good mouth wash and gargle. Dried it can be smoked like tobacco.
